Hello!
For today’s blog post, I would be doing a book review + discussion on Colleen Hoover’s latest book which is All Your Perfects!
I’m actually a big Colleen Hoover fan. I haven’t read ALL OF her books but she’s definitely one of my favorite authors especially in the Contemporary genre. You should read her works especially when you love Contemporary, Teen and Coming of Age type of stories.
I finished reading this book a week after it got released, and now I really regret why I didn’t made a book review back then. LIKE WHY?
To start this Non-spoiler book review, here’s the book description from Goodreads:
Book Description
Colleen Hoover delivers a tour de force novel about a troubled marriage and the one old forgotten promise that might be able to save it.
Quinn and Graham’s perfect love is threatened by their imperfect marriage. The memories, mistakes, and secrets that they have built up over the years are now tearing them apart. The one thing that could save them might also be the very thing that pushes their marriage beyond the point of repair.
All Your Perfects is a profound novel about a damaged couple whose potential future hinges on promises made in the past. This is a heartbreaking page-turner that asks: Can a resounding love with a perfect beginning survive a lifetime between two imperfect people?
BOOK THOUGHTS WHILE READING ALL YOUR PERFECTS:
- OLDER CHARACTERS
So compare to earlier works of Colleen Hoover, this book tackles a serious matter which is about a couple who has a failing marriage. Expect that some scenes would be more mature and serious.
- THE WRITING IS SO GOOD
Y’all…you already know how much I pay attention to how the author write’s his/her books. Colleen Hoover’s writing is fantastic and her sense of humor really comes out on the books she write. It’s very descriptive and full of emotions.
- EVERY.COLLEEN.HOOVER.BOOK.IS.AN.EMOTIONAL.RUIN
There, I said it. That’s the tea.
You should be bothered when you’re already halfway through a Colleen Hoover book and the major plot twist hasn’t come out yet. This book is different tho, because right from the start it already is EMOTIONAL WRECKING. All the Now’s are so hard to read because of the heavy emotions it got.
- THE BOOK HAS A PERFECT BALANCE
The ‘Then’ are what keeps me alive after all the ‘Now’s’. Yes. That’t it. The book is comprised with two periods of time, the one that happened on the past and the one which is presently happening. If you love that kind of element in books then you should read it!
- RESURRECTED BACK FROM THE DEAD
Even though this book has some serious elements, of course this still falls on the Contemporary genre so expect that this book would tickle your hearts and make you believe in love again. IT WILL make you believe in second chances and forgiveness.
This book will surely destroy you and break your entire existence but it will bring you back again as if nothing else happened (scars and trauma would be evident I guarantee~)Thanks for dropping by! Have you read All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover?
Let’s continue the discussion on the comments!
